I often get asked to create logos for clients and partners. So, today I’m throwing back some basics and covering the types of logos you can design. BUT remember, your logo isn't your brand. And it shouldn't be the first step to creating a brand (we can discuss more about branding in another post though). Let me know if you find posts like this useful and I’m happy to post some more basic content every once in a while!
A logo is a graphical image that symbolises your business. If you want to choose the best logo type for your business, here are the 7 types of logos you need to know about:
⠀
1. Logotypes
2. Brandmark
3. Emblem
4. Monograms⠀
5. Mascots⠀
6. Combination
7. Abstract
Often you might think that they’re all a combination of typography and images, each type of logo gives your brand a different feel. And since your logo is the first thing new customers will see, you want to make sure you get it right.
Logo design and branding are huuuuuuuuge topics, one which I could talk to you all day about but, if you’re in need help with your branding or unclear about your brand direction, feel free to send me an email or drop me a DM on Instagram 👉 @cindycheung.designer.
